Move the records with a reconciliation plan, not just an import file.
A data transition connects the old operating records with the new environment. We help define what will move, how it will be prepared and what evidence is needed before the result is accepted. The assignment can cover selected financial and master data, subject to access, format and the agreed migration scope.
Establish the transition boundary
We identify the source systems, target environment, entities, periods and records included. Decisions about opening balances, historical transactions and archived documents are made before extraction. Ownership, retention and access permissions are considered. Data that is missing or unreliable in the source cannot become reliable merely by being imported elsewhere.
Prepare and validate representative transfers
The work may include field mapping, duplicate review and sample imports. Validation compares agreed control totals and selected records, including classifications and relationships. Exceptions are recorded with a proposed resolution. Client approval is required before consequential changes or the final transition. Sensitive information is transferred only through approved channels.
Control cut-off and handover
The transition plan addresses the final source position, authorised changes and the availability of recovery copies. The handover explains what moved, what did not and which limitations remain. The old system should not be retired simply because a new login works. Retention, licensing and future access decisions require deliberate approval.
Common questions
Can only opening information be migrated?
Yes, where that fits the reporting and operational requirements. The consequences for historical reporting and access should be understood before choosing that approach.
