DECISION INFORMATION

Prepare information for a defined purpose and audience.

A financial report should make its scope understandable before the reader interprets its figures. We help organise agreed records into a reporting output suited to the stated requirement. The engagement defines the period, intended users, source information and nature of the work, including relevant limitations.

Specify the output

We discuss whether the requirement concerns business performance, a particular transaction, a financial position or another agreed purpose. A recipient's checklist can inform the brief, but it does not by itself establish the appropriate reporting basis or guarantee acceptance. The proposed deliverable is confirmed before preparation begins.

Connect figures with their support

Reporting work can include assembling schedules, reconciling relevant balances and explaining significant assumptions. Questions about incomplete records remain visible. Management is responsible for supplying and approving the underlying information and decisions assigned to it. Any professional opinion must arise from the separately agreed work required to support that opinion.

Issue the agreed version

The completed report identifies its relevant period and purpose. Where a brand verification record is created, the recipient can compare the displayed issue details with the document. That record is not a substitute for reading the report, assessing its limitations or obtaining permission to rely on it. Later revisions are handled as controlled versions.

Common questions

Can the report be prepared for a bank, investor or overseas recipient?

We can assess the stated requirement. The format, professional authority and recipient's acceptance conditions must be considered; acceptance is not guaranteed.
